A Special Program for VMware Employees Only. |
VKernel is a VMware Technology Alliance Partner. As a result, we get a steady stream of requests asking us for no-charge evaluation licensees. This is a simple offer to the employees of VMware, specifically systems engineers and other customer facing technical types to use VKernel’s virtual appliances free of charge for an extended time period. Our fully functional Capacity Bottleneck Analyzer virtual appliance is already pre-configured for a free 15-day evaluation. Our Chargeback virtual appliance is similarly pre-configured for a free 30-day evaluation. Under the terms of this program, we’ll double that period. You may use VKernel’s products to:
-
Help your customers overcome key operational readiness issues
-
Help remove barriers by providing analytic insight into key ESX Server performance
metrics
-
Proactive, preventative analytics help you and your customers spot trouble before it
happens.
-
Use VKernel’s virtual appliances for your own edification & internal sandbox projects
(not for production)
Here’s the gist of the program…
- Provide some basic details about yourself & your role at VMware. Note your email address must be in the form of you@vmware.com to qualify.
- Download the VKernel virtual appliance of interest.
- Install the VKernel virtual appliance into your target environment. Note that VKernel’s licensing is tied to your physical environment.
- The virtual appliance that you downloaded and installed is automatically pre-configured for a free trial period.
- Prior to the end of the free trial period, you can request a license extension to double the free trial period. Click on the “License” link in the product’s menu bar and follow the instructions for “Trial Extension”.
- If you qualify, your license key will be emailed to the email address provided in Step 1 above.
Yes, you’re right. It’s not an abuse proof process but we request that you honor the intent of this offer to use VKernel’s virtual appliances to help you, help your customers. And of course we reserve the right to cancel or modify this program at anytime.
